Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen spoke at the 16th Munich Young Leaders (MYL) Roundtable. Held on the sidelines of the 61st Munich Security Conference (MSC)[1], the MYL Roundtable brings together young leaders from governments, think-tanks and the private sector from Asia-Pacific, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the Americas to discuss issues related to foreign and security policy.
At the session, Dr Ng interacted with 29 young and upcoming leaders from 24 countries. He spoke about the four key actors on the World Stage, namely the US, China, Europe and the Global South and their corresponding roles and influence. Dr Ng also exchanged views with participants on the current geopolitical landscape and ways to address the existing global challenges.
Dr Ng also attended the Cohen Group roundtable along with members of the US Congressional Delegation and other defence ministers.
[1] Held annually in Germany since 1963, the MSC is a high-level security conference that brings together key foreign affairs and defence leaders from around the world. This will be the thirteenth time that Dr Ng is attending the MSC.
